Equipment Demo to Civilian

COMPLEX PROBLEMS

The Cohort Program takes on challenges that can require multiple technologies in complex systems. In pursuit of a solution, teams of expert technologists sometimes uncover other problems regarding the project that the Army had not considered, but would need to address to create the best solutions.

MULTIPLE SOLVERS

Army challenges are examined through many lenses to identify a variety of potential solutions and to provide government stakeholders high fidelity insights into selecting the best new application of technologies. Companies are encouraged to cooperate, sharing expertise and technology development, which often results in more companies advancing to future contracts, and even an entire new class of small, nontraditional integrators.

Your existing intellectual property (IP) will not be impacted by participating in a cohort. If you are invited to participate, you could be asked to disclose existing IP to the government that will be used, advised of your existing IP rights, and asked to identify what limited-use rights you wish to provide the government. The government cannot disclose SBIR data outside of the government; however, it will have a use right to any new IP that you develop as part of a cohort.
